The Plague Dogs is an 1982 British animated drama film, it is based on the 1977 novel of the same name by Richard Adams.
The film was written and directed by Martin Rosen and produced by Nepenthe Productions.
the story is centered on two stray dogs: Rowf (a retriever) and Snitter (a terrier). They escape from an inhumane research laboratory in Great Britain which performs cruel experiments on animals.
On their journey they meet Tod, a wild fox. He helps them to survive and teaches them how to find food, how to hide, and how to become wild animals.
The story takes place over 40 days, the first day being when they escape the facility of investigation.
