I'm not sure if Wikipedia counts as a reliable source here, but wikipedia:Platypus venom clearly states that the platypus is "one of the few mammals that produce venom" and that "while extremely painful, is not toxic to most animals". Equivamp^talk 00:57, 13 July 2011 (EDT)
