Talk:List of webcomics that reference furry
Could this article have a better title? Spaz Kitty 22:18, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- Some of these already have their own items in Category:Internet coverage. -- Sine 22:21, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Breaking up is hard to do[edit]
Okay, so in regards to whether it ought to be broken up... I figured it'd be useful if someone looking for info on this subject would have it all on one page, so we didn't end up with a buttload of teeny articles.
As for the name, I just thought, "What would a user instinctively enter into the Search bar if they were looking for this?" Admittedly, "Furry references in webcomics" probably would have been better, and if we change the name and add a redirect, we'll have both off them covered. Octan 19:07, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
I think this stands as it is.. most of these comics arent at all related to the fandom, Id be glad to see PvP and Penny Arcade rolled into this article, not the other way around.. that would make our coverage in webcomics easier to track for fans. Perhaps rename it "webcomic coverage" too, part of Internet coverage. If all this would make the article too long then go ahead and split it
VGCats did a piece for Movie Comics with a very brief slight: http://www.vgcats.com/comics/movedcomics/021207.jpg Also Sluggy Freelance had a short joke on the fandom: http://www.sluggy.com/daily.php?date=031002 ~ Downspin —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.138.112.226 (talk • contribs) 19:22, 4 August 2006
- How is that VGCats comic related to furry? o.o Spaz Kitty 19:32, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
More then just webcomics?[edit]
Furry is referenced in more then just webcomics online, just like Bonus Stage is listed at the end. An example I could think of is Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series, which references furries in episode 12. Mabye this article should be split into webcomics and other online media. Just a thought, though. --Miff Falden(tlk|fur) 02:28, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- Lol, I love the spoof song, Brooklyn Rage. Can't beat my/Can't beat my/No they can't beat my/Brooklyn Rage/(I don't wanna be a furry) --Equivamp, the furry that isn't helping the discussion at all.
- I believe creating a single article "media coverage" which would be the hub for all articles related to webcomics/websites/animation/newspapers/neural links could do the trick. Kind of like Wikipedia's "List of...". -- Mikael Grizzly, the cougar too lazy to log in. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.23.66.107 (talk • contribs) 09:25, 16 March 2007
- There's already Category:Media coverage and Timeline of media coverage, so I don't think a media coverage article is the answer. While I like looking at the article (Webcomics that reference Furry), I think it's probably a good idea to move the info to Timeline of internet coverage and the various articles in Category:Internet coverage. --EarthFurst 12:24, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well, it's now made its way into a syndicated comic strip, so clearly something ought to be done. I would recommend (1) splitting up this article, (2) splitting the "media coverage" category into fiction (like CSI) and news items/magazine articles, and (3) sticking all the new articles under the fiction subcategory. - I don't agree that separating out fiction rather than factual or description coverage is the way to go, at least not in the Timeline of media coverage. I'm inclined to continue to place references in webcomics into the Timeline of internet coverage, and simiarly to put any further references in syndicated comics into the Timeline of media coverage. At any rate, I do think this badly needs to be split into separate WikiFur articles (some of the items, indeed, already are described in articles I believe); it's hardly a readable list with a paragraph for each item. -- Sine 19:30, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
order[edit]
The sections of “List of webcomics that reference furry” didn't seem to be in any order (so I put Diesel Sweeties at the top .. it coming before Penny Arcade alphabetically). The other sections are not in alphabetical order, but I think they should be (until a decision gets made on where to have this webcomic info). And they're not in chronological order (section 'start' dates are 2002, 2002, 2005, unknown (Deep Fried), 2003, 2006, 2004, 2003, 1999, unknown (Bonus Stage), unknown (Animals Have Problems Too). --EarthFurst 02:24, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
Zebra Girl[edit]
I remember furries being referenced twice (once was a furry convention being hell or something, and once as a warning to someone who was an anthropomorphic animal), but I couldn't find them, so I thought if someone else wanted to track them down and add them to the page I might as well leave a note about it on the discussion page. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.229.242.64 (talk • contribs) 03:07, 26 January 2009
