dumb[edit]

" All three servers also had "Fast Download," which is a service via HTTP that allowed users to download maps, sounds, and other custom content from a web server faster than normally possible via the "trickle download" method. "

Stating a server has "fast download" is like saying it is running the game. Fast download also doesn't work with any special method. Webservers download faster then game servers because game servers are running a game.

Timeline inaccuracy[edit]

This decade-old dead gaming community wiki page isn't entirely accurate, which doesn't matter at all except it was something I played in some really formative years and introduced me to furries in the first place so it's a little special to me! Basically: The community did not start with TF2. I don't have exact dates because this took place like 15 years ago, but at least earlier in 2007, cc2iscool hosted a Zombie Master (Half Life 2 total conversion mod) server which was one of the most popular and "well managed" in the community, and it was geared towards furries. Several high-profile (...For the mod, which was a playerbase of a few hundred) map-makers used the server to test and premiere their new content, and the server was populated at more or less all hours. This pre-dated TF2 by at least several months. A lot of "core" community members switched to TF2 when that came out, and the ZM server (and source mods in general) waned in popularity, but continued to be hosted until at least some time in 2008. I haven't just edited this into the page because I don't have firm dates or sources!
