Putting this in the discussion rather than the article itself, as it's not really NPOV, but I still feel that I should point out that the artist in question was warned that the "abstract" image they submitted would lose them a lot of marks, and given an opportunity to replace it with something more appropriate - they still chose to procede with the application, for reasons that remain obscure to me personally. Honestly, I'm not sure that one person's anecdotal experience should be included here. Evidently, 73 other artists got in - this comes across like one person with an axe to grind. --Duncan da Husky 12:36, 1 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Well, the facts as stated are accurate. Four artists were downgraded from B to C, there were a considerable number of complaints from fans of two of them, and EU was in this group solely because of the abstract picture. However, if there's a consensus that the reference should be removed, it can be. :) Tevildo

Like a job interview, the application process is a two-way judgement process; by rejecting me based on a rigid, unmalleable grading system, Artvark failed to impress me as somewhere I'd feel comfortable putting my work. The [reviewer's comments] didn't help either. -Peggy, stumbling across this on 27feb2006 while looking at something else on Wikifur.
