In the Line of Duty is a short story by M.C.A. Hogarth that was published in Anthrolations #7. It won the 2003 Ursa Major Award for Best Short Fiction.

Plot[edit]

Onboard the spaceship, United Alliance Vehicle (UAV) Scattersky First Commander, Alysha Forrest is given the assignment of transferring personnel after answering a distress call. The crew expect a routine rescue operation but nothing is as it seems.
