History[edit]

Furry.FM's debut broadcast in January, 2015 was an original program dubbed Random Furry Talk in which listeners could call the station via Skype and discuss any fandom-related topic they wished. On March 2015 Furry.FM obtained a Music Broadcasting license from SUISA and thus, became permitted to legally broadcast copyrighted music online.

The Furry.FM website was published in May, 2015 and the 24/7 music stream began soon after, with original content such as Random Furry Talk, interviews, special performances, and games remaining part of Furry.FM's programming block.

In August, 2015 Furry.FM began collaborating with the South Afrifur Pawdcast team and began broadcasting material in English every Sunday. Later in August, Furry.FM's broadcasts became accessible internationally.

On October 5, 2022 Bravura announced that the station would cease broadcasting at the end of the month, and that Furry.FM would be hosting one last show on October 23. Replays of the stations older shows would be played 24/7 until the station's broadcast went offline.[1]

At the time of its closure, Furry.FM was the only licensed furry internet radio station that broadcasted material 24/7.
