I'm a little curious why you removed the [[Category:1982 births]] from Kithylin. Categories are there to reflect the article text, and a birth year of 1982 is given there. I'm also curious about your comment removed date of birth category --- no citation for that anyway, when there is a citation (number 4) given in the article.--Higgs Raccoon 10:20, 12 July 2012 (EDT)

My apologies, Higgs! My statement about a lack of citation was incorrect, but my edit also could have been much better described. It was in response to a mostly page-blank edit to an otherwise good article. The reason given by the anonymous user was "Edited by Kithylin - Contained personal information that I do not want listed on this website.". Because the article contains good information, particularly about a founding member of a convention, making it historically important, I requested to the user that he follow the policy for making a formal exclusion request, providing identification. In an effort to prevent this page from being completely blanked with the {{Protected-Excluded}} template, I simply removed the only "personal" information I noticed on the article, the indication of real-life birth year, and noted that in my response to the user in the invitation to make a formal request. I also noted in my response that things like external links shouldn't be removed as they could be easily found and added again. I'm sorry my summary was unclear - it was misinformed as to the reference and lacked clarity as to why an otherwise correct piece of information was removed. --BlueOtter 10:45, 12 July 2012 (EDT)

Motivations behind all the Stubs on AU furries.

Hiya Higgs Raccoon, a few of the local furries I know have recently discovered the Stub pages on them that you created, which has caused a small discussion on twitter to occur.

I'm kinda curious at why you do this, and where you initially gather the names of the furries that have made articles about.

I personally don't mind the page you created on me, but some are of the opinion that it perhaps would be nice if you asked peeps first for permission to post such things (even if they may be easily googled and such).

Anyway, I'm sorry if this isn't the most appropriate forum to ask you this, but it seems to be the most logical, since you're the initial creator of all of these stubs! Thanks --KaiAdin 07:10, 24 September 2012 (EDT)

Let's see... Why do I create stub articles? A variety of reasons, I guess. Being a scientist, recording and cataloguing things goes with the territory. Also, I think the fandom as a whole is worth recording. And not just all the well-known artists, fursuiters, convention organisers, etc. I think more everyday furries should be included, too, so that WikiFur records a more complete cross-section of the fandom. As to why I create stubs on the AU furries, that's because I'm an Ozfurry myself (though I don't get to be there that often anymore.)

As to where I gather the names... all sorts of places. LiveJournal, Fur Affinity (with its ready-made list of Ozfurs), Twitter (yes, WikiFur knows when you're talking about us), the Fursuit Database, WikiFur itself (lots of red links to google)... pretty much anywhere furries gather online.

Because the information included in articles is gleaned from public profiles that appear in the simplest google searchs (I, for one, don't bother digging for information), WikiFur doesn't have any policy regarding asking permission first. Feel free to open a discussion about it on the Policies and Guidelines page, if you like. Of course, anyone who has an article here and wants its removed is welcome to request personal exclusion.--Higgs Raccoon 17:27, 24 September 2012 (EDT)

Sorry about that. There was nothing that linked your new name to your old one, so I created a new article without realising you'd already been catalogued previously. Vandalism can always be reverted, and you can always put the article on your Watch list so you will be alerted every time an edit is made to it. FurFright dates

I put the FurFright dates back that you had removed. You can see them here and they appear in advertisements in many furry convention books including FurFright 2012, FC 2013, and I believe MFF 2012. That's largely up to you! There are plenty of articles about other furries here, on which you might drawn inspiration. Other people sometimes add brief descriptions of their fursonas, or describe how they first found the furry fandom. There is a difference between making changes to an article and doing a complete revert on it every time someone else changes it. You may wish to put this question to User:Spirou, who added the cleanup tags. But, glancing at it, the first thing that needs correction is all the unnecessary bolding and italicising of various words and phrases, from the "Locations" section to the end of the article.
