The Cuckoo Child is a fiction book by Dick King-Smith. It is about a farmer's son, Jack Daw, who steals an Ostrich egg from the local Wildlife Park, and places it in the nest of his pair of Geese.

The viewpoint alternates between Jack Daw and that of the farm animals, prominently the Geese, Lydia and Wilfred, and their unlikely son, Oliver.

The Cuckoo Child, illustrated by Leslie Bowman, was published in 1993 by Hyperion Books for Children (with the ISBN 1562823507). It was "First published in 1991 by The Penguin Group, Penguin Books Ltd., ... England."[1]
