Hello. I have a question about being a furry. do I need a fursuit? or can I just be body painted to look like an animal.--68.235.19.174 22:23, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Neither is necessary, really. Many people who attend furry conventions are just dressed in jeans and tshirts and the like. --Douglas Muth 22:24, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
Even at the busiest of conventions, you only see about 20% of people in costume, and it won't all be full costume. --GreenReaper(talk) 04:04, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
In my experience, the amount a furry uses furry clothing (such as a fursuit) varies from person to person. Also, furries I've met usually are not in fursuit nor in bodypaint. Furries seem more likely to wear a furry tshirt (available from Category:Vendors such as Rabbit Valley)), and sometimes wear furry tails and/or furry ears. --EarthFurst 04:30, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
I agree with them, I may WANT a fursuit, but not having on won't impact my self image. I like the tail and ear ideas alot too because I have a high body temp and that makes fursuits a bit, warm, to say the least. basically, you need not look, act, or sound like a duck, to, in fact, be a duck.
