DarkOverord, occasionally known as DarkOverord Occassus or DarkOverord NoSpace (born July 24, 1989), is a furry artist specialising in digital art who resides in the England, United Kingdom[1]. His name is originally a typo of "DarkOverlord" made in 2004 when registering to deviantART that he chose not to correct[2].

Fandom Involvement[edit]

Overord discovered the furry fandom in 2006. However, he did not identify as furry until 2007, and became active in Manchester's furry community after attending Manchester's Main Meet in November 2007. He cites Sonic the Hedgehog as a franchise, and its associated fandom, as being one of the main reasons he discovered the furry fandom and furries in general.

Characters[edit]

  • DarkOverord Occassus - Overord's original fursona is a male slim red dragon character with a grey underbelly, large wings, blue eyes, a purple gem in his chest and messy orange hair. This design has been mostly consistent from mid-2005[3], with one prior design without the hair, and had an yellow-orange underbelly that was used briefly in early 2005[4]. This character fell out of use as his primary online representation in 2013 but has come back in to semi regular use since a design revision in 2018[5].
  • DarkOverord - In February 2013, Overord changed his fursona to that of a pooltoy/inflatable dragon[6], retaining similar features as the original dragon's design. There was a design revision in 2016[7] to make the design puffier looking than the original 2013 version.
  • Marcus Fukuyama - A male fat tanuki in earthen tones with green eyes, paw pads on both hands and feet, and a large tail. Initially designed in February 2012[8] the character became Overord's main fursona at the beginning of 2017[9]. The character has transformation magic and as such has been depicted in art as other species and characters.
  • Simon Rickson - A male red hedgehog that was originally a Sonic fan character called "Speedy Rickson"[10]. The design gradually transitioned from Sonic proportions to something more anthropomorphic in 2012[11] and with a final revised design in 2018[12]. The final design being a red hedgehog with yellow lighter fur on his chest and muzzle, darker red quills, eyes with heterochromia iridum (right eye - green, left eye - blue), and paw pads on both hands and feet.

Meets and Conventions[edit]

Overord was the organiser of the NorthernFurs Manchester Minimeets between June 2010[13] and August 2012[14]. In addition to attending the furmeets held in Manchester, and others held in Chester and Leeds, he has attended ConFuzzled in 2010, 2011, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019[15].
