Margaret Carspecken is a furry artist who lives near Springfield, Missouri, U.S.A. She and her husband Robert are the creators of the webcomic Faux Pas. She has been involved in furry fandom since the 1980's, first as a member of the APA Rowrbrazzle (where she met Robert), then later as a member of Tim Fay's Inkspots fanzine. Margaret collaborated on the SCA-based Warthaven comic with Mark Wallace (aka William Blackfox) until the latter's untimely death in September of 1997. She is the author of Sweet Treats - Easy-To-Make Dessert Recipes from the Kitchen of Marsha Redfox, and does paintings and prints for furry convention art shows.
Robert and Margaret were guests of honor at Midwest FurFest 2000 and Rocket City FurMeet 2007. They are scheduled to be guests of honor at Wild Nights 2014.[1] They were awarded the 2004 Ursa Major Award for Best Anthropomorphic Comic Strip for Faux Pas.
Marsha Redfox is a vixen character appearing in the artwork of Margaret Carspecken. She dresses up in appropriate costume for the many recipe cards Margaret has created, a good number of which are reprinted in the Sweet Treats cookbook. She is also featured in other artwork, often in the kitchen or engaging in other hobbies. Marsha is often in the company of her husband, B.J.
Marsha has dark brown hair (as opposed to Cindy Fox, of Faux Pas, whose hair is the same colour as her pelt when drawn in humanoid form).
Amongst Margaret's characters, Marsha is the closest she has to a fursona; along these lines, B.J. represents Margaret's husband, Robert Carspecken.
