FOXmas (or Frozen Oasis Xmas) is a planned "mini-con" to be held 11-13 December 2009 (with most events on the 12th) at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites in Rochester, New York, USA.[1]

The event is to be 20th in the series of Frozen Oasis events, organized by Jaspian and Soron, but the first aiming to be a standalone convention. It is advertised as 18+ to get in, 21+ to drink, allowing "skritching, hugging, lapsitting, kissing, and groping ... between consenting adults". A "non-denominational" Christmas theme will be in effect, with music, carols, traditional movies, and the exchange of gifts.

The Guest of Honor will be FuzzWolf, owner of FurPlanet and member of KnotCast. Santa-level ($75) sponsors will have access to a catered dinner with FuzzWolf.

The media, mundanes, and all those under 18 are barred from convention space. Soft drinks are free, and over-21s who have paid for an "Elf" level ($25) or higher registration will have access to free alcohol[citation needed] at the Saturday night party, which is to feature an "all-night" dance. Non-staff photography will not be permitted in the Saturday night party.[2]

A fursuit bowling outing is planned on Sunday afternoon, although the ~$14 cost is not included in registration.[2]

Sexually-oriented promotional material billed FOXmas as "the most important event in furry history". Some took this hyperbole and the website graphics at face value, leading to clarification from the event's organizers.[3]

Organization

The event is organized by the Kanouse Entertainment Group, Soron's sole proprietorship. It developed from Christmas parties at Soron's house, which attracted 55 furs in 2008.[2]
